Directed by: Terrence Malick
Genre: Drama, Art House
Country: USA
For some viewers, this is a complete narrative mess, but for the patient viewer, you will find the inner mechanisms of the film are wholesomely entertaining. The film often has us seeing dinosaurs, planets, lava, volcanoes and other weird earth structures as it tells us the story of a 1950βs family. The cinematography was definitely brilliant, and Brad Pitt definitely gave a good performance, but despite the films philosophical sincerity, the narrative is quite messy. Terrence Malick returns to cinema making a film that definitely stands out in 2011.

This reminds me of 2001: A Space Odyssey by Stanley Kubrick. Kind of odd and the plot is hidden inside gobbly gook. I probably need to see it and judge for myself π
Good review! Cheers…
